Impressions about Las Cruces and US

• Of course, we were very surprised of downtown El Paso (many big glass building, as we saw only in the movies in Russia).
• Then New Mexico's desert is very different from our land, it's just sand and cactuses but we have a lot trees, grass and lakes in Chelyabinsk. In the same time we liked and like now Organ mountains which surround Las Cruces. These mountains are not high, but picturesque, without trees, just cactuses around.
• Sure, we liked american hotels they are very comfortable ones.
• On the second day here one woman rode us to a supermarket for big shopping. It was so strange to be in so big shop and see many good in one place, we only saw it in movies also. You know, everybody feels very lost himself first time there.
• Also we liked our apartments which were very big with compare of our flat in Chelyabinsk. We had 2 floor apartments even with our own backyard.
• And of course we liked NMSU campus, it's so clean, good architecture, many trees and especially palms!
• BUT! There are some features which we didn't like. First, Las Cruces has very poor transportation system, too few buses and that's all. At Saturday you must wait the bus at least 20 minutes. Also the area reachable by bus is kind of restricted...
• Second, we found out that we saw much more  fat people than in Russia. It's very strange considering the number of biking and joggling people around the campus.
• And third, people don't wear pretty clothes, they use only shirts and jeans every time. You know, it's different in our country, every woman or girl tries to be different and bright.
